Achieving that work-life balance in style

At the end of a work week when you’re looking for a break from your usual weekend activity of lounging and binge-watching your current favorite Netflix show, there are a few great departures from the usual. A few of these include a yoga class in the park, a road trip to lesser known destination close by, or even a one-day course in mixology with your bestie.

And here’s how you kill those occasions with just the right outfits.

Mood for Mixology

Learning something new and fun should always be on the agenda and is only better when you have a partner in crime to share it with. Now, a fun activity like a mixology class needs a laid-back minimal outfit which is comfortable, chic, and allows for movement.

Women (Srishti Agarwal):

Look: Pair a staple white tee with a high-waist skirt in a neutral shade of gray to taupe with an asymmetric hem to add an element of fun. Complete the look with some bright sneakers if you’re feeling funky or white sneakers if you like it classic. Keep your lips bright and the rest of your face minimal. To accessorize go with pearl-detailed hair clips on the side.

Men (Karron Dhingra):

Look: Pair a printed shirt in a neutral color palette with well-fitted black shorts. Make sure the printed shirt is all-personality because it’s the center of your look, so skip on being safe. Complete the look loafers in black or white and accessorize with a watch. Pomade your hair to give your face a slick look and keep that facial hair groomed. Everyone is a sucker for well-groomed hair, trust us we know a thing or two.

Road trip to Nowhere

It’s all about the journey packed with selfies, snacks, and conversation and less about the destination. For a road trip comfort and layers of chic pieces are the key.

Women (Dimpi Sanghvi):

Look: A solution to most travel looks is a pair of comfortable denim shorts. Pair it with a cropped top or a bralette and layer with an oversized jacket. Complete the look with on-trend mirror-lens sunglasses and sneakers.

Men (Varun Verma):

Look: Pair a comfortable loosely fitted tee in white with slick printed polo shorts in brown and layer with a blue chambray shirt. Complete the look with white or navy-blue sneakers. And accessorize with a watch and your favorite vacation sunglasses.

Yogi’s are stylish too

If you aren’t guilty of drooling over yoga leggings on Instagram, then we don’t know how you have that kind of self-control. We for one have a few uncountable leggings bookmarked for that magical day we embark on our yogi transformation.

Women (Samidha Singh):

Look: See a pair of crazy printed yoga leggings? Yes, buy them. Pair those with a very comfortable short tee or knot up a long tee to let your abs breathe. With a pair of printed leggings, you want to keep your tee neutral like a white or black so that the leggings take center stage and outfit looks balanced. Complete the look with a bright yoga mat and a comfortable hair tie to keep your hair from falling all over your face in a mess. Carry a jacket or sweatshirt for later which you can throw on.

Just another reason to love Summer

What we love most about this time of the year are the light cheerful colors which come out to play. Lilacs, powder blues, blush pinks, and oh the shades of cream and ivory. If we could elongate this time of the year we would, but alas.

There is something so magical this time of the year that everyday occasions and celebrations also seem more festive and brimming with lightness and fun. This brings us to our favorite part, and that is dressing up for these various indulgences.

Mid-day karaoke cocktail (Anchal Bharadwaj)

Crisp and sunny weekend afternoons are all but made for hours of relaxation and fun. With overflowing glasses and good company. This look is a winner for those Sunday afternoons where brunch turns to more.

Look: Blush pink jumpsuit with florals. Styled with bright earrings and a hat which suits your face. Complete the look with either espadrilles sandals or heels.

Sun-kissed in Lilac (Srishti Agarwal)

If there were a summer favorite we could pick, it would be lilac. Not only does it complete every skin tone, but it also has this British summer royalty charm to it. This look is perfect for a brunch and can be added to your vacation-fashion too.

Look: Boho-inspired lilac dress styled with an on-trend rattan bag. Accessorize with tortoise shell oversized glasses and a hat. Complete the look with comfortable platforms and a watch, both in rose gold.

Polka dots seize the day (Ashima Makhija)

A classic pattern which is appropriate no matter how old you get and no matter how much your fashion evolves. There is always an outfit out there in the perfectly sized polka dots waiting for you. This particular look is the perfect elegant option for when you have you have to be all-class.

Look: Light mint-blue polka dot dress with a playful hemline and tie at the waist. Accessorize with a chunky watch and dull gold ballet flats. Complete the look with a statement bag in ivory and you’re good to go.

Same Dots but Different (Sonia Thiyam)

If you think we are way too into polka-dots, then you’re probably right. And for good reason. We love the versatility polka-dots provide. This particular dress oozes summer like nothing else. Wear it to beach wedding, a lunch get-together, or a date. It all just works.

Look: Pastel green dress with small polka dots styled with clear styled to keep the focus on the dress. Accessorize with accessories in gold. Go minimal with the accessory size and loud with the lipstick.

All this talk about clean summer fashion, has us planning a fun cocktail so that we can strut around in our polka dots and pastels too.

Have an occasion? We have the look

When you put together a great outfit, the waiting game begins as to when you will get to debut it. And the time span from creating the look to showing it off all depends upon which one of your friends or family members has a thing to celebrate and if that doesn’t come soon enough, chances are that you will find an occasion and nail that outfit.

Here are some occasions that we love and are absolutely worth putting together a great outfit for and/or debuting that look you’ve been “dying” to wear.

Down in the Derby (Anchal Bhardwaj)

An event at the derby begs for an outfit in colors and styling which stand out among the crowd. So how does one achieve that? Three words: Fire Engine Red.

Look: Classic plaid skirt in red and black paired with a high-neck lace detailed tuck-in top. Accessorized with key pieces like a structured red bag, red pumps, and a little fascinator on your hair to add that British styling to your look. Keep your lips nude to balance out all the red or go all the way with a deep red to ramp up the drama.

Pretty day for a Picnic

Sure, going to a great restaurant or the trendiest bar is one way to celebrate a birthday, but nothing beats a relaxed picnic with some small eats, bubbly drinks, fun games, and your favorite people. Order a cute picnic basket online and pitch for a day under the sun for some good memories and of course an excuse to shop a cute look.

Look: Yellow and navy-blue checkered tube with high-waist flared out jeans with playfully teased ends. Chunky sneakers for your feet and an on-trend head band. Keep the accessories minimum and draw on some bright lips.

Brunches are Blessings (Swagata Dev)

Whoever says brunches are overrated, is just not doing it right. We love a good brunch and what’s not to love. The energy is infections, the food is flowing, the music is lit, and the fashion is festive. And the number of selfies…hundreds, thousands… ah just so many. Nailing brunch fashion is all about mixing and matching and carrying it off casually.

Look: Retro-style ruffled polka dot skirt in red paired with an off-shoulder floral top with flowers in red. Style with ballet flats in white and forget all your accessories at home except for maybe a small pair of earrings or a stack of rings. A look like this doesn’t have to be supported with too many accessories. Keep your lips nude.

Weekender Ready (Varun Verma)

All-day music festivals have transformed into being hotbeds for relevant fashion and styling trends along with being a celebration of all thing’s music. Festival fashion is all about looking laid back yet on-point. And we know just how to strike a balance so perfect that your pictures pop.

Look: A ripe orange polo paired with nautical themed shorts. Complete the look with bright white sneakers and a statement accessory like a chunky watch. Style that hair to perfection and pack an extra pair of sunnies.

All-Purpose Outfit (Karron Dhingra)

If you’re the kind who doesn’t like to tediously spend time putting together a look then this is the perfect one for you. An all-purpose look is one that fits all. From a brunch to a music festival, you’re going to shine.

Look: Pair straight-fit pants in an ivory white with a tropical printed casual shirt. Throw on some loafers or sneakers in white depending on where you’re going. Loafers are great for a brunch while sneakers are appropriate for a sundowner event.

Airport Fashion

Travel fashion is serious business today. It must be a balance of being on-trend yet comfortable thus making it worthy of the gram and those endless selfies. The key to nailing this whole travelling in style gig is to look for clothes which can breathe and can be layered if needed. And one major accessory which can pull the look together with ease and style.

Ready for some inspiration? Let’s get into it

Effortless Coordinates (Anchal Bharadwaj)

Look: Create your own co-ord look by pairing breathable and roomy linen pants in white with a top in the same shade. You can go sultry with your top style based on how long/short your journey is. If it’s too long then go for something structured yet roomy but if you have a short flight to a fun destination then go the super sultry way. The best thing about this look is that it can be layered, either with a duster jacket, sheer jacket, or a warm jacket to keep you cozy on flight.

Accessorize like a queen with reflective shades, pearl hair clips, or stacked rings. Whatever your personal style is. As for shoes, chunky sneakers in white are a solid winner.

Sporty Minimalist (Dimpi Sanghvi)

Look: Distressed denim shorts paired with a fun bralette and millennial pink sneakers. When you have an action-packed vacation planned and are ready to get into the mood right from the get-go, then this look is for you. Carry an oversized bomber jacket in an olive green and a small wrap in cream or ivory to keep those legs cozy during your flight.

Accessorize with oversized shades and red lips. Nothing more needed.

Neon Basics (Varun Verma)

Look: Can neons really become part of our “basic” wardrobe you ask. We say yes. Shades of neons aren’t backing down anytime soon and when better to go all neon than on vacation, imagine all those great pictures you will back to. If you aren’t ready to go neon yellow yet, start with a neon blue.

Accessorize neon looks with neutrals sneakers like in white, black, or gray. And don’t forget to pomade that hair.

Like the celebs do it (Karron Dhingra)

Look: Classic joggers in black paired with a graphic detailed sunny-side-up yellow tee. If you’re more street style and edgy then this is the look for you. A personal favorite of ours and a look that every man should own. The black of the joggers creates a visual frame for the yellow to stand out and the graphic details tone the yellow done and make the look stand out.

Throw on your favorite sunnies and accessorize with a cross-body belt bag in black or dark navy to tie the look together and create balance.

Pack some sunscreen and extra shoes and don’t forget to take a gajillion pictures.

Wait, is that even a word. Probably not. However, you get the drift.
